Transition DisabilityTransition disability is a unique product designed for your employees who lose their group LTD coverage as a result of outplacement. Most employers discontinue LTD coverage on the last day worked or at the end of the minimum statutory notice period. Unfortunately, an individual who is not currently employed cannot purchase individual disability insurance. Transition disability allows a terminating employee to protect themselves against the potentially catastrophic consequences of a long term and possibly career-ending injury or illness. Employers are often prepared to pay for this coverage. Transition is underwritten very liberally and very quickly.
